A New Beginning

Today is an exciting day for me ... for lots of reasons. It's New Year's Eve for one thing. At midnight, 2010 passes over to 2011. Do you ever get those moments when, despite what's happening around you and despite the lack of clarity about your own life, you can sense a light at the end of the tunnel ... That's how it feels ... Sometimes the light is only dim. At other times, it seems much stronger. But either way, I know it's there. I know it has meaning ... I'm just not sure what yet.

I'm also excited today because I'm creating my first blog. Well, my second blog actually. The first effort was a compulsory one as part of my university studies so it doesn’t count. But on this occasion I am choosing to write a blog. That feels totally different. So why blog? I can think of a few reasons. As I said earlier we're approaching 2011. For me, 2011 signifies new things ... new projects ... things I've been wanting to do for a while but just haven't gotten around to. I hope 2011 is the start of doing some of these things. You're wondering what things? Well, you'll just have to keep reading my blogs over the coming months to find out. What I can say is that these projects have links with writing and technology... and possibly business. If nothing out, blogging is a way for me to share my thoughts and ideas ... ooohh, on all sorts of things ... and keep in touch with the people that I care about.

So, that's my first blog ... that wasn't too painful ... now, just to work out how I want my blog page to look. That will probably take me the rest of the day. Still, I suppose this would be a good time to wish anyone reading my first blog a Happy New Year and all the best 2011.
